Bloomberg wlb in london

Hi blind people, I’m about to receive an offer for bloomberg in london and was wondering how is the wlb there? I see a lot of bad reviews about wlb in glassdoor, is the london office different? Do you need to be in the office for 10h? prev tc: 🥜 new tc: i dont know yet

WLB in London is just worse in general as in a company like this you can expect many late meetings with the US.

Bloomberg alj123 Nov 25, 2021

Not true for Bloomberg, WLB is top notch. Also, if you have meetings with the US (not a given), it will be with NYC which is a much friendlier time zone.

Bloomberg bbiO37 Nov 26, 2021

False, no late meetings

Bloomberg WLB in engineering is godlike. Anything outside of ENG is a sweatshop.

Also the contact says 45 hours a week but no body follows that. They have good wlb

Good for coasting till the retirement age, even if you’re in your thirties now. I know of a handful of “global” teams based solely in London which are supposed to coordinate with teams in APAC and AMER. But that’s an exception.

Godlike wlb. I basically work 2-3 hrs/ day Pro: can coast Con: makes me rusty and I don't have a lot to talk about my past projects

And how is TC in comparison with FAANG in London?

Bloomberg MEME<GO> Nov 27, 2021

TC is great/ almost on par with FANG if you're joining externally (as a new grad, or as a senior) Then it stagnates the more time you spend here.

Can you share your experience in the system design round? I have an interview next week and your insights could really help me! Thanks

It was low level design only, but the hr interview they asked me the high level design of projects i worked with so id say study both I read the book of alex xu to get an udnerstanding of the basics signed algo experts to understand how the interviews are, it was more to get how i should approach the problem, but maybe you can find other options on youtube and i also read ddia (using audio book when i was eating or working)

Alright. Do you remember the question? I have prepared from grokking system design. Do you think it's enough?
