I work for a startup and have been here for quite a few years now. Started out in the trenches and built my way up to the lead engineer on our security team. Was talking to a recruiter who asked what my specialty was, and I honestly wasn't able to give an answer.
I've been a jack of all trades for my entire time here (an MSP) and have delt with everything ranging from security assessments (code analysis, mobile apps, web apps; etc), incident response cases, digital forensics cases, managing and directing small teams for projects, building out security solutions for clients and the such. That being said, while I'm able to get the job done, I wouldn't call myself a master of the mentioned.
I gotten a bit too used to the startup MSP life and I'm honestly not sure what step to go in. Should I start focusing in a specific skillset? Or maybe should I continue to build out my entire skillset in a broad manner? Which would be more useful?
