Booking Amsterdam SRE
Anyone know what’s it like working as SRE at booking? Is it still mostly a Perl shop? I’m going to be interviewing there in a bit. Also, can someone refer me for Uber SWE/SRE in Amsterdam? Thanks!
It was traditionally a perl shop. Newer services are now in java, after the change of the CTO. Work is good but one level below FAANG.
What do you mean by "one level below"?
Lol the CTO still has zero footprint on the business, how do you think suddenly we are Java?
Your experience will very much depend on the particular team / manager. But on average things are slowly improving across the board IMO.

Avoid Booking at all costs if you value your career. It’s not Perl that hurts, it’s the pathetic incompetent management. Rampant cronyism etc.
