Booking long distance business class tickets out of pocket for parents and in-laws

I have never travelled in business class on a long distance flight. Booked business class for the first time for my aged parents for travel between India and Seattle. my mom had some health issues and wanted her to travel comfortably. $7000 for return tickets. Felt little pinch on pockets but I used 220k points from Chase rewards to reduce ticket cost by 3K. Now I need to do the same for in-laws :) since my mother in law has some health issue, I would like to book her in business. Any ideas tips to get good deals on business class? Would it look bad if I just book one person in business class and ask my father & father in law to travel economy as they are healthy? They travel every year, so just thinking of setting expectations. TC (525K + 495k for spouse).

No fuck. It never it. Look me half of it is taxes. To the Trump. Even if they might not get to vote, they gotta pay the shitty tax. And the cost of living for a good Damn family. Sales tax is super high. And if you want to protect yourself from recession and want to save up, even 5 million is savings is not enough. They gotta save for their kids education loans, their future health problems, retirement savings, his parents and in-laws , health insurance and out of pocket. And good forbid vacation once a year. That comp might look heavty but that still gotta save just like anybody else. Don't be a s**. Give legitimate answers to his questions or gfys.

Is there a cruise from India to Seattle? Book a top-deck suite for them? They would feel pampered and spend less time at your home. I would guess cruise takes at least 2 weeks ;)

You are hired

On a serious note if you really want a deal, put alert on Google flights and if you are ok with an additional stop, the rates are much lower. I've seen business class fares from India to US roundtrip for around 4k onwards..

Amazon willing OP Mar 15, 2019

It got it at $3500 for Chennai. Bangalore is $3000 if I book 4 months ahead!

AMD LEtV72 Mar 15, 2019

Yeah 3.5k is not too bad. BOM and DEL are less than 3k to Seattle for next month too..so it depends..

Always book flights with miles. Transfer those chase ur points to airline miles then redeem. 220k points is 220,000 miles which can have a redemption on premium class of up to $37,000 or up to $6,600 in economy.

AMD LEtV72 Mar 15, 2019

This doesn't work for trans contintental or trans pacific flights from India to US. One has to book 4 sectors and it definitely takes more than 220k miles to book round trip flights for 2 ppl..

Yes it most definately does.

If own parents and in-laws are treated differently - big issue. If both dads are treated differently - no in-law inequality. Might as well book first class, you’re already spending $7,000, first class shouldn’t be too much different. And you guys are making 1M TC.

AMD LEtV72 Mar 15, 2019

Lolz parents and in-laws are obviously treated different..if you treat them same, they are extremely lucky to have you as son-in-law (or daughter-in-law)

I'd be damned to be surrounded by strangers in 1st class while my spouse sits in couch...

Yes, it will be weird to make one person travel business and other economy. It's a long journey, a good company will go a long way in making them comfortable and not get bored to death.
