Boosting resume during last few months @ FAANG

I’m considering jumping ship in ~4 months. What kind of skills/projects should I invest in to show off on my resume, or to just to gain general SWE experience before leaving? For example: cool researchy projects, core skills such as monitoring, large coding/infra project, or more TLing and mentoring. Thanks!

    Where do you go from Google? You pretty much work at the place everyone wants to be at so...

    • It’s doordash if you want big risk and a lot of low hanging fruit. Or Netflix if you want high comp. Or LinkedIn if you want cash and rest and vest.

      Covid knocked AirBnB off.

      FB is still for growth but don’t want startup.

      Agree. The goal in terms of less risk-adjusted comp (plus growth) is more like FB 6 years ago, DoorDash two years ago... etc, etc. Something like TikTok, various series B/C companies 🤷🏻‍♂️. I’m really looking for more of a challenge than jumping into a steady company.

    The "free" project resume boost you get from Google products is QPS. Google infra is so good that a 5mil QPS service is trivial to implement here but looks insanely good pretty much everywhere else. So take ownership of one and put it on your resume
