Anyone have experience with any of the coding boot camps like General Assembly? Were you able to get a decent job coming out of one?

  • No. These are just coding mills, pay for certificate type programs. They churn out tons of really low quality graduates. You'll need a lot more to land a good job. Almost none have a CS background. You'd be better off going the coursera route and doing the long game. Now if you are a woman or minority and have a non CS degree it might get you some interviews, but it won't teach you what you need to know to pass.

The graduates I've talked to are often smart people, but you simply can't get a good education that fast. You can get s good job and be productive, but that job won't be a company on Blind
