Looking to break into Product Management, but not getting much traction on my resume. Would anyone be up to provide some criticism (harsh or otherwise)?

Would be much appreciated, docs link below to add comments or image attached

Can you post your resume here after redacting personal identifiers?

How about posting a screenshot of resume to make it easier for blinders. Your funnel metrics will be much higher. #pm

  • I have a very similar background and looking to make a switch to PM as well. I think here are some things:
    1. You just joined Amazon in September 2020 from non tech background
    2. No PM experience

“Create project management” doesn’t make any sense. But other than that, you should reshape several of those lines to relate to product management. “Worked backwards from customer to identify their needs and work with cross functional teams to turn that vision into a reality” etc. you know, Product management stuff. As a management consultant, it’s not much of a stretch

  • Some of it reads I contributed to large projects, but perhaps some quantification around your specific impacts. For example when I hire PdMs, I can less about the size of the project they worked on and more about impacts like... drove X, reducing Y weeks out of schedule and launched early... or prioritized z database feature that reduce cloud costs by xx per year... or ideally metrics around market share capture. Another note, most firms are looking to see how you translate customer problems into solutions for value creation... any examples that might simulate this in other roles could help too. Good luck!
