How to save India from destruction?
I broke my 14 month apartment lease at 5th month in San Jose CA. I went for rent responsible option instead of paying 2 months lease breaking fees. Irvine housing is now trying to lease my apartment at 3700instead of 3450 which was my rate? I found suitable replacement who are eager to move asap for 3450 but they are not entertaining them at that price? What are my options? Should I stop paying rent responsible payment? Is it not against 1951.2 law of california that they are not entertaining replacement at same price to mitigate the loss.
And that's why you never go with shitty overpriced managed housing like Irvine Housing. Those guys will do everything to get every dollar out of you. They know the market prices and will increase your rent as soon as feasible. Rent with a low key landlord. Doing that in Palo Alto for the last 6 years. We got a very friendly increase of 2% a year and that's it
Say you want to continue the lease at $3450 and sublease the apt yourself by adding the person to your existing lease. Wait till the lease period finishes and get out from that hell.
Try to make a deal off the record with the new tenants. Pay them the difference in rate for the full year. You might end up saving a few bucks. No other way out. I rented there and was close to being in a similar situation. At that time I tried to find all the options at disposal. You don't have much of a choice now since you already have given them a notice.
Not having options since given the notice is BS belief. I learnt that hard way and by being on the opposite side of things - will spare you the long story BUT take it from the suffered - you can pull out of the 30 day notice and they have to honor it - I was told that this is a law in California. Again, not a legal advice.
Agree, paying future tenant the difference is at least better than paying breaking fee
3450 wow!! What is your total compensation? My current rent is a little above 1500 in Portland Oregon and I make base of 75K as RCG. How much money do you make to afford a place like?
Just curious. How big was the Apt? 2bd 2ba?
Yes 1300 Sq ft
How did it go?
This is in Riverview Apartments in north San Jose
