I want to create a custom vanguard ETF portfolio and automatically invest the chosen percentages into this portfolio every month. Which brokerages can do this? AFAIK, only M1 finance can do this but that is available only for US citizens/permanent residents. Vanguard does it only for mutual funds , not ETFs.
Trading212 can do this and no fees
What’s the difference between the vanguard ETF and the equivalent mutual fund?
Who said M1 is not available for folks on visa?
They won’t block creation of account but will flag when you enter the country of citizenship in the account opening form. I tried this 2 days ago and also messaged them on twitter. Twitter response: Hey, thanks for the interest in M1. This is xxxxx from the marketing team. This is part of our eligibility policy, and we will let everyone know if that changes in the future. From their website: https://support.m1finance.com/hc/en-us/articles/221052687-Opening-an-M1-Account A reddit post to which the CEO of M1 responded: https://www.reddit.com/r/M1Finance/comments/9caq44/international_ambitions/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf Another one: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/M1Finance/comments/axzhdq/m1_finance_doesnt_support_nonresident_aliens_in/ Got these threads from: https://www.reddit.com/r/M1Finance/comments/g9g1oz/something_similar_to_m1_finance_but_available_to/?utm_source=xpromo&utm_medium=amp&utm_name=amp_comment_iterations&utm_term=active_search&utm_content=comments_view_all
I was able to open it. So not sure if it has changed recently Have you tried recently?
Same question, robinhoood works?
Apparently it does but the user is responsible for splitting the automatic investment amount among the chosen ETFs based on desired percentages. So if I change the amount to deposit, I have to change it for all the ETFs. Doable but not clean.
Not bad I could live with that fuck m1 for no visa policy
I have been looking for the same. I settled with M1 after trying Schwab, Fidelity and Vanguard. I also tried Robinhood. It has recurring buys, but M1 pies are nicer.
