I’ve mega backdoor roth money in a brokerage link roth account. Is my understanding correct that if i sell a stock for profit in this account, I won’t need to pay tax to both federal and california, assuming I don’t withdraw it?
I think i know about fed, but not very sure about CA.
Do you also get 1099 from fidelity next year?

If you don't withdraw anything, you don't pay taxes. You don't even get a 1099.
My question is if i were to sell some stock at profit today from my mega backdoor roth, do i need to pay tax to either fed or ca assuming I don’t take any money out of this mega backdoor roth account?
