At which level? That’s the kicker.
A strong heart to handle the coke
Good sense of knowing who might be coming in the office today..
As noted above, it really depends on the level. It also depends which stakeholder your referring to. Some thoughts: Senior Level (Client Perspective) - Available, knowledgable about the client and it’s industry, understanding of market dynamics and insights into M&A that other bankers don’t necessarily have Senior Level (Junior Perspective) - All of the above because strong senior members do deals rather than pitch, but also reasonable expectations and clear directions More Junior Level (Internal) - good attitude, intelligence, hard work, reasonableness, attention to detail coupled with not being a jerk to those they work with. The last point is important, as people who don’t like you won’t go the extra mile for you, which is something a lot of people don’t grasp
Ability to stay calm and perform under pressure. People skills both externally and internally. Ability to grasp numbers and trends quickly. Strategic thinking of all businesses fit together and within a landscape.
