It’s really difficult to succeed when your managers feel the most effective way to coach/train their employees is put them on a PIP (performance improvement plan) many of my peers have spoken with me about being on PIP. One person was actually fired although he performed well because he “lacked communication and called out a lot EVEN THOUGH HE HIT QUOTA” that was the corporate lingo used. One person couldn’t hit quota so they made him move teams and said if you don’t get certain number of opportunities you will be fired. Another person also quit/was fired from the company after only 4 months or so and he had moved from the east coast. This is the shittest management in the whole company. And it sucks because cloudflare is such an awesome product. The head of business development is a Princeton grad and I think he’s letting that get to his head. Pretty incompetent management and really sad that new grads are falling into this hellhole.
This is very TOXIC. I know a few people who plan on publishing a medium article
What is your TC?
Total comp??
Yes you must be new to blind.. with every post a blinder is required to put his total compensation i.e TC and his years of experience (yoe). This is to create more transparency about compensation for the entire tech community in reality the purpose of blind. Please check other posts on blind to verify this, so you know I'm not making it up.
That sucks :(
Yea it does it’s very sad :( I love the product so much but the manager here is absolute horror to work for. Constantly feel like I am going to be losing my job or put on PIP
Sales gets no respect here and this attidude comes from the top
What department are you in.
This is completely correct. It’s a firm that was founded by an attorney and a product person. Why would the culture care about sales?
Nick Simmons and Visith Bou are two people who are cultivating this toxic culture.
This may be true but 29-year-old junior sales team members don’t ruin cultures. Sales VPs who allow them to influence younger team members ruin sales cultures.
This is really sad to hear. My experience at Cloudflare has been the complete opposite. I can't say enough positive things about my manager and our team. I wish I knew how to help you.
I know employees here that are ultra focused on the number of hours spent in office vs what is actually delivered. Sad!
That’s not the issue really. The issue is PIP is the only thing on their mind. Often times both the head of biz development and other managers who manage bdrs threaten employees with PIP if they don’t do xyz....
