I'm from India and thinking of investing in coinbase stock using Vested app. My budget is around 4k dollars. Why coinbase? Well, I came across a video on YouTube by a famous analyst telling that it's a good time to buy that. Is investing in coinbase right now a good idea? I'm not a seasoned investor and don't wish to take high risk. I dont mind forgetting about that money for the next 5 years, if I have to. It's currently around 241 dollars. Coinbase employees, what do you think? Please state the reason behind your choice in the comments section. @OP and others Investing in US stocks from India: Can someone please share your experience/knowledge with the US stocks Tax filling for Indian Residents ? I know the general rule LTCG at 20% and STCG as per tax slab. But from an online post I found that one needs to file certain reports/sections (Schedule FA, FSI, TR, Form 67, etc) in the ITR while showing Foreign Equity holdings (even though if you don't sell any stocks and just hold for long term). If you sell or get dividends then need to file tax on the Capital Gains/Dividends/Interests accordingly. Q1. Does Vested(or any other app that you use INDmoney etc) provide detailed help and support while filing the IT returns ? Q2. Can one file taxes on his own by just using the reports from the App or it is too complicated for a normal individual and getting help from a professional CA is required ?
I am filing itr-2 my self . But every year I have to refer to multiple documents and depend on search to extract information... You can take help from CA but that might be expensive... I doubt sites like INDmoney will help.
I see looks like you might have some good amount of experience with the taxes then. BTW which app do you use to invest in US stocks ? Does it provide some help with the taxes ? I used to invest in US stocks while working outside India, now I want to start again having returned back.

It's better to invest in Microsoft or Amazon stock. Crypto still has an uncertain future.
I don't think I can afford to buy Amazon stock right now (Don't want to put the whole amount on one stock). Already have MS stock, want to invest in something else.
@OP You can buy fractional shares in US stock market
