Debating to keep renting or getting a 2/3 bedroom condo. If 3 bedroom, will probably need a roommate to offset the cost. Current rent for a 1 bed is 2200, tbh, I need a bigger place to accommodate guest/office. Upgrading to a 2 bedroom in the same or new complex is $2600-3100. Buying a decent place (upgraded/modern/attached garage) is $800K+. Even with excellent credit, it looks to be $3500-4K. Or the other option is to renew lease and leetcode my ass off the next 2-3 months and land a crappy apartment in SF/SM? 🤣🤣 $3500 in SF is not going to get me far. #losangeles #sanfrancisco #santamonica - 14YOE - Low TC as no stock options: $145K Base, ~$15K bonus every year, 4% match on 401K, healthcare + tuition reimbursement, etc - $375K in 401K - $150K cash savings - Excellent WLB @my current work, location and job will work out if I decide to have kids... - 0 debt And if it helps, I am a female in my 30s, newly single 😬. Love to party outside and not bring it in home.👵 Love to be able to walk around in Irvine at 3am and not get heckled like my friends in DTLA. 😠
Stay in Irvine. That salary is around the range for Irvine. Move to FAANG in Irvine if you want salary increase. (I only know Amazon is in Irvine)
Google has an office in Irvine/ Newport B area. Will try that if they will be a good fit. Heard Amazon in Irvine is a sweatshop...ppl actually take ambulances from there!
Irv office is small. If you’re willing to commute there’s lots of opportunities in LA.
You can always look for jobs in Santa Monica while you are still living in Irvine.
Going to break the mold if you can get into the Bay Area your TC will go through the roof even including rent. Speaking from experience, get your ass to the bay if you want some more moneys! TC pre move: 155k, post move: 306k
