Couldnt find a 2021 updated post with specific. $ amount. I'm trying to compare if it makes sense to buy 2 iphones + prepaid or MVNO (like Cricket etc) or is it better to buy iPhones from a carrier like ATT/Tmobile (GSM only please). Requirements/Assumptions: - Chances for breaking phone screen is very low aka, no need to buy phone insurance - Privacy concerns: for most carriers who ask for SSN, personal details, one can search phone number online and get name, address, age etc If that is the case, we want to avoid such a carrier/option - Apple iphones hold their value well and can be sold on craigslist after 2-3 years Option 1 2 iPhone (ProMax 128GB) at about $1100 each = 2200 Phone service (unlimited everything+ 15GB data per line) for Att prepaid it's $80 pm for 2 lines Option 2 Att has payment plan over 2 years and average per month cost including phone installment costs $120 per person Over 2 years, this is 24 x 120 = 2880 Thoughts? comments? Anything I'm missing? #finance #money #iphone #att #personalfinance #discussion
Have you looked at T-Mobile prepaid? Starts at $15/mo for 2.5GB data. Perfect if you don't use a lot of data. Also look into T-Mobile postpaid family plans. Don't remember the exact numbers but my roommates and I shared one in college, it was great value for money.
Prepaid cell phone coverage is not the same.
Don't buy an iPhone and get a plan from mint mobile. Just saved you so much money. You're welcome.
