My options are completely underwater for years now. i have a lot (62k shares). how would i go about seeking companies that would be willing to buy out my golden handcuffs? I am Director level.
That’s not how any of that works
Yes. Worthless. But the upside is massive. If we come back 25 percent it is millions. Who is going to match that? Not many.
You could buy these options on the open market for not that much. Do the calculation for what their market value is and then recalibrate
Ask them to buy you 62k of ABI call options at a $75 strike. And hold them if you're feeling lucky 🙂
Buy out your underwater options? Looking at that chart, you are out of luck my friend. You need to get a director level sign on bonus and give up on those worthless options.
Rusty handcuffs
Yeah that's the equivalent of buying 62000 way out of the money options for $1 each and then try to convince someone they are really worth a lot more than a $1 because the company is great and the stock might go up before they expire.....just doesnt work that way.
Doesn't underwater mean they're not worth anything? They don't seem to be that golden or that handcuffy then. Just negotiate new comp based on what you're worth.
