Hi Everyone, I am interested to hear anyones feedback about Byton and their experience with teams, company, culture, viability, etc. I worked for Tesla for several years on the non-technical business side but now have a little more technical knowledge but still looking for something more on the business dev/operations side of things. If all sounds well, I am also looking for a referral but still questioning if it's worth pursuing.
Come to Lucid. Things are super exciting here right now.
I’ll start looking into Lucid. Would I need a referral or just reach out to a recruiter?
I’d love a referral to Lucid if you’re willing to provide, Panda!
How's your feedback about Tesla? I'm interested in non technical business role in Tesla.
Be prepared for low pay and countless hours of work. If you are there for the mission, it’s great. It’s easy to get burnt out but need to be political to rise yourself to the top.
Thanks for the heads up. Mission is good reason but it fades away if you have to deal with politics and low pay ☹️
Stay away from all Chinese AD/EV companies unless you are Chinese and plan to move back to the mainland
Don’t mean to be facetious, but are you saying that from experience being at NIO?
Not just NIO (I am no longer there btw)
Stay away from the auto industry
Why so?
I agree!! To name a few: Long working hours. Poor working conditions. Low pay. Direction-less growth. Unhealthy work relationships. Unstable environment. Could go on but I guess these points by themselves make a good case.
100% what fmwt said
Byron is a sinking ship stay away
Rivian has a cool mix of cultures and talent from traditional auto, ev and tech.
How is the culture? Glassdoor recently shows a slew of negative reviews. Are these people who were PIPed?!
Stay away from China!! Are you crazy! They will treat you like shit especially if you are Chinese! That only leaves Tesla or rivian. I’ll also stay away from German and Japanese OEMs. GM/Ford/ and Cruze are left As options

Go woke, go broke: Google fires 28 employees involved in pro-Hamas protest
You don’t wanna come to Byton. The negative Glassdoor reviews are fairly accurate. While there’s been a decline in office politics recently, its been replaced by a sense of gloom and wondering if next month’s paycheck will arrive. Byton has struggled with paying vendors, securing investors and employees are constantly leaving. The coronavirus situation in China will only hurt in addition, but Byton might use it as an excuse for why things haven’t been moving lately.
Interesting, i appreciate that feedback
Stay far away from BMW as well
