I had a recruiter reach out to me regarding a C-suite EA role (it's one of the Alphabet companies, their comp/benefit structure is on part with FAANG) . Another one at AWS supporting a VP and some directors. I work for a mid-sized company now, previously used to work for a one of global tech conglomerates for sr. execs and C-suites. What is the realistic ask in leveraging comp? I am perfectly content with my job now, but would love to hop for a higher salary as EA career has low upward mobility after you sign the offer. I am not going to play the TC game, and planning on just waiting for the offer to come first. The market is highly lacking in scouting for EA's that have experience with big name companies, in the area I'm at (Dallas Fort-Worth Metroplex). If anyone could shine some light for me that would be great. #admin #executiveassistant #compensation #TC #salarycomparison #salarynegotiation #advice

Minimum 90k is what I ask for. Plus all those fancy bonuses and benefits they offer. Negotiate the highest possible bonus percentage along with the salary. Start with 25%.

Yea. Get yourself over that 90k mark and I think that's fair. I'd even accept 89k. But the bonus percentage is the beef. If you get at least 10% that's good too.

There is no bonus for EAs at Amazon. If other comments are referencing RSUs=bonus, and if you get an offer letter, review it in detail / thinking long-term. I was so excited about getting an offer, and trusted the Recruiter's word (i.e. you'll make so much money after a year with job transfers..), that my naiveness resulted on me making (+-$5k) on year 2, since your base will decrease based on "RSUs".. and unable to move to a higher level for better pay due to internal mechanisms. My performance review= exceeds high bar while given 5% base increase (barely covering current inflation 7%). All things that the Recruiter failed to tell me. The EA community operates as a caste system, where other EAs are directly involved on your workload, development and career advancement. In summary, get yourself well beyond 25% you want, since you'll most likely stay at that comp level for many years. Good luck!

Thank you!!! This is helpful. I currently am offered a GM AA role at AWS. Recruiter claims comp is matchable to an EA scope and role due to size of the team and workload... I am considering whether I should rather interview for an EA role since it is an AA title. Thoughts?...

While interviewing with Amazon they gave me a minimum of $115K for remote work. How long have you been an EA? I’d ask for $105K minimum to work for a C-Suite Exec.
