How do you do that?
Technically I do well, but I am seeing other people write minimal code and getting ahead in career.

I still want to work hard but also want to work smart. Any advice and perspective for those who have been there?

    Lead other engineers. Improve your skip’s org not just your manager’s. Look for such opportunities. It’s not just about the number of lines of code you write.

    When you work, think about how you can help your team to become a better place to work at. For example: how you can help other engineers to become better at coding and designing; how you can advocate your team in your organization when talking to others about your team’s projects; identify areas that your team can work on and expand the scope across teams if possible (need your manager’s support)
