How do I get to the next level - Solution Architect

Hey I’m currently a Solution Architect implementing salesforce through a big agency. I have about 4 YOE with salesforce, about 4 months experience as an official SA. I’ll probably stay in role until the 1-2 year mark, but what’s next?

I don’t want to get stuck in a salesforce hole. I’m wondering if a move over to Amazon as an SA would be juicy money-wise or a pre-ipo start up?

I’m just feeling kind of lost for what the next 5 years look like. Any advice from folks in similar paths would be awesome.

Well, there are several options and it comes down to what you enjoy the most. You need to keep in mind your career trajectory and velocity

      1. Become a manager of SAs and eventually become a VP of technical services.

      2. Become a customer success manager (but this is not a good role. It’s another dead end)

      3. Become a manager of SA and then switch to engineering manager and then become a CTO

      4. Build a repo with product managers and switch to PM, and eventually become a CEO

      5. Quit your job and retire. Deploy all your savings in TQQQ

      6. Don’t take any advice from a stranger on Blind

Go to AWS and earn and learn more. Form there transition into something else.
