Assume one leaves a company one has invested a 401k with. Can one typcially rebalance funds after one leaves said company without rolling the 401k funds over into a new 401k, say before finding a new employer?

NVIDIA has Fidelity as additional info, if thatโ€™s important.

If I understand, you want to change what funds your money is invested in?

Yes itโ€™s your account but itโ€™s within the funds what your company offers (and not what Fidelity offers if you had opened your own account with them)

Iโ€™m not familiar with Brokerage Link option, but in my experience, whatever youโ€™re able to do as a current employee, you should be able to do the same when you separate.

I still have 3 retirement accounts with old employers and move stuff around once in while

Yes you're able to rebalance your investment elections, if I'm understanding your question.
E.g., 50% large cap, 25% mid cap, 25% small cap.
