I recently secured my post grad offer - I never actually thought I’d be able to bag something over six figures out of college and I guess if anyone is reading this and is still in college just don’t give up and believe in yourself. It definitely sucks going through the pointless classes and having to grind leetcode, but once you get to the end of the tunnel it feels damn good and it’s really something that’ll make you proud. I just hope you don’t give up at any point on your path if you know deep down that this is right for you. I’m happy to love swe but some people don’t and that’s okay!

Either way I’d love some pointers on how to manage this money post grad. I’m planning to try to save a good bit to add onto my current savings but also start getting into some stocks. Any pointers or resources or inputs are appreciated. So I guess this post is kinda like a you can do it but also any advice type of post. idk. Have a good day my ppl!

No equity? Enjoy your money now and save at most like $30-50k. Then, reinterview to a job where you get RSUs.

Yeah or whatever number you feel comfortable having in liquid assets before you leave. The sign on clawback cutoff is a good date too. Whatever you do, enjoy your money while you’re young. Your goal is to get a sustainable and fun lifestyle that motivates you to reach higher for better TC.

      Welcome onboard the hedonic treadmill!

Congrats! Check out the FIRE subs on REDDIT (financial independence retire early). You want the option to retire early, even if you don't intend to do it. That way, if you become disabled, want to take a couple years off at some point, or just are done at some point, you are good. Money means options. Options are good.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll have to check that out. I’m planning to spend some of my free time next semester learning about all of that so I make good decisions from the get go.

      Options are indeed good!
