Does Facebook have a lower cap on the max compensation they can extend to a M1 (engineering manager) candidate if he/she doesn't have a competing offer vs having one?
In other words, do I need to get a competing offer to get close to ceiling of M1 band, or can I do this with good negotiation skills?
I have a M1 offer with Facebook and considering interviewing with Google for this reason.

FB does not lowball if you don’t have competing offers- I saw another person posting a high offer without anything competing. Unlike Google which will fleece you without competing offers
Thanks for the advice. I'm happy to hear that Facebook has a reputation of not lowballing its candidates.
