Does this Twitter thread about wokeness and devolvement in SWE culture apply to your job?
https://twitter.com/HazardHarringto/status/1481797871389351936
Just a few snippets:
"Obviously insanely radically leftwing. BLM/LGBTQ. Trans flags hanging in office. Pronouns stated before meetings. Special affiliation groups for everyone but white men. All what you'd expect."
"And so the entire company has devolved. We're running on the code written in years past. No major new product initiatives are being launched. Workers complain that they're understaffed and demoralized. People take constant sick days, or don't show up at all without record."
Basically some guy that works at a company with "...A name you would know and have probably used before" is talking about the devolvement of the SWE work culture with, politicization, remote work, and entitlement. Thoughts?

And yes, I have seen some lower bar minorities being hired and promoted for DEI brownie points but I have also seen plenty of stupid men being hired/promoted for ass licking. These things will happen at any big company, but no way they can "takeover" the company culture. If they do, the business dies. Have you seen any of these stocks go down? If you don't believe in stock prices, have you seen revenue/profits go down? The fact is, the world is weird and selfish - make your money quick and hangout with people you feel comfortable - work to live and not otherwise. Don't let emotions get on your nerves.
Remote work comments are all bullshit. People now work irregularly but they still work. If anything, performance tracking is even more methodical now as you don't get bonus points for coming to office or staying late. You can get shit done in 2 or 8 hours - no one will know as long as you get it done. Remote work is the biggest blessing there is. You no longer have to say hi to your leftist colleagues, see their face or have lunch time ideological discussions. People are frustrated because of lockdowns & the coworker being your only friend mentality. Have a life outside of work and you will be fine
That's 30x more than a typical far right company
Basically being an asshole is no longer a good business model, but it was 60 years ago
