Hey everyone!
Wondering if anyone has gone though Google UX engineer interview loop? The one that’s specific to the design side, not the front end one?
I’m trying to prepare for it but can’t find a lot of resources online... the recruiter told me that it will be lower bar JavaScript, CSS, or DOM related but that’s a bit broad. I only have a week to prep so I’d love to know where to narrow my studies.
Would love to learn more about anyone’s experience or maybe even do a mock interview :)
G is my dream company but I’m more of a self taught programming so my fundamentals are a bit shallow. I can get along fine with the help of google search but a pair programming session sounds intimidating.
Thanks!

Also, totally depends on interviewerers. I got some algo questions and linked list questions in the past but sometimes I get a simple game architecture questions. It totally depends.
Know your JavaScript inside out. Es6 is a must. Know descent level of component development and some algorithmic coding practice.
E.g. traversing, hashing, map, set, etc.
Knowing some JS framework is not a must but you can code if you are comfortable in any framework over vanilla Js.
Knowing some algo helps (e.g. tree) but it is not a must.
On the design side, you need to be well-versed with UX/UI pattern.
The depth of each questions could vary depending on level. Personally I went through interviews for L4, L5, L6 over the years. The depth is different.
Just curious, did you interview for the design lens or engineering lens?
