Hello, I have been invited for an onsite at Goldman's NYC office. I had a coderpad interview before this. Could anybody please give me an idea of what to expect in terms of types of questions, difficulty, etc. Have just started preparing and would love some direction. Really appreciate it. Current tc: 108k, 4yoe.
Prepare for 5 rounds of in person interviews in one day 2-3 coding, other system architecture, design, sdlc etc
I am in sec div, I got leetcode easy questions. Actually, the brainteasers I got asked were also some of the easiest ones I had ever seen. Rumor has it Marcus is willing to match FANG comp if you come from a FANG, so it's unclear. If it's not obvious that you're being hired in for a VP level position the pay is gonna be horrible.
It depends on the spot they wish to fill and the interviewers themselves. The best way is to network with someone who is senior vp and above to voulch for you then even if I said no because you didn't know how to turn on a computer you will get an offer. Without networking it's a total crap shoot in terms of difficulty. Let's say your interviewer can't code, they might read up on latest Java documents and asks you how all the latest java 12 features work. For the most part, your best bet is leetcode medium as many coding questions will be those verbatim. Image is super important so if the interviewer somehow messes up or can't even do their own question, be as nice as possible. Good luck! GS will easily beat 108k since first year offers beats that easily.
I interviewed at gs got asked leetcode easy, one guy had me implement binary search, another asked me what a move ctor was, the rest were selling me the team. Offer was very low, I showed them a competing fang offer and they laughed and said have fun at fang
Sounds like what my current manager would say :-D this is for marcus/commercial banking, so hoping it'd be better. Thank you for the info.
Why did they laugh at fang?
