Can I give my boss honest feedback?

I want to tell her that she changes her mind so frequently that I am not confident in her judgment, and that when she makes these decisions she is often basing them off factually incorrect information. Also, I want to tell her that I don't feel comfortable showing her the 2-min proof that the information she has is incorrect (which also happens to give the correct information).

    Correct her if you're 100% sure you're right. Show her whatever proof she requests. Eventually she will trust you enough not to require proof. Use this as leverage when you push for that future raise.

      I would have guessed new and insecure but sounds more like arrogant and incompetent and if thats the case she wont take constructive criticism well.

      No I haven't brought this up. Either could apply here. I haven't deciphered a pattern, though perhaps I could pay closer attention and keep logs to find patterns.

  • It will depend how u phrase ur conversation. When she changes her tell her immediately "But u just said otherwise". After that, present facts on both version and tell her the potential outcomes on both. A lot will depend how u frame the communication. Ur negotiation skills are at test here. If she is going to help u grow in career then hang in there.

      I don't think she will help me grow much, but I'd rather continue my work then move around.

      Have you tried that communication before? I'm curious. What happened?

    • U need to win trust of ur boss. Always do what ur boss wants u to do assuming he/she knows the consequences. At times when things get tricky I suggest discussing on another day so u both get time to think.
