Planning to get a 0br/1br near downtown seattle for amazon. Is it feasible to live carless? In other words, is seattle walkable/transitable?
You definitely can, but it will be hard to do any outdoors actvities (or something outside the city) without relying on your friends with cars.
I’m planing to do the same .. but I figured if I live in SLU or CapHill would be more fun. And use the bus to commute to work
I don’t know the neighborhoods well, but I think west caphill is walkable to work.
Pretty easily. And you'll probably save 500-1000 a month (or more if you have a bougie car) so you'll easily be able to afford a rental when needed for longer trips. Plus all the rideshare trips you could need.
Awesome
Yes that’s easily doable
Half the fun of being in Washington is getting to the outdoors and not having a vehicle makes this impractical. Sure, you can just live in Seattle but that's like living in Sonoma and never going to the vineyards. If you're just there to pull in earnings, meet fellow Amazonians, you can just use turo for the occasional trek out of Seattle. Doable but your missing out on wandering.
I am currently doing the same. I stay in SLU so a short bus ride to enterprise/national. Also, zipcars available within 5 minutes to my apartment and multiple car2go. Been doing so from 2 years.
Yes. They also have lots of app based car sharing/rental services to make errands and day trips easy
You can be carless but you can't be careless... Badum dasss ... I'll see myself out
Yep
