Everyone in nest management knows that every new joinee in nest is joining so that they can transfer to google in a year. I have a friend whose transfer got blocked.
Transfers get blocked all the time, even at Google. They just don't get talked about that often. A manager can block a transfer if a member is considered critical to the team and hasn't sufficiently transferred their knowledge to another team member. They can be released when a backfill is hired or when they have sufficiently on boarded another team member or documented their info.
u will have to wait one year and then go thru the formal or informal interview process depending on the hiring manager's preference and role req. but who is to say they won't sell off Nest over the next year.
