Dropbox has about the same growth rate, higher revenue but less market cap. What is the deal?
Social companies are usually valued against the number of users they have. If Pinterest’s story is ads + e-commerce then they can get a monster valuation based on the lay of the land. No rational reasons needed. Sad but true. Unrelated: With storage getting cheaper and aws/google/apple slowly inching in with free storage for pics etc. I am not optimistic about the long term value of Dropbox. Plus box already built the boring but useful enterprise features before them.
Plus enterprise business usually triumphs long term. Yearly subscription lockdowns ftw
Yep
No. The next Groupon
If Twitter can do it, so can they. 245M MAU of mostly female users. That's an advertisers dream. Dropbox? They just store files in the cloud like Google drive and Microsoft OneDrive and those aforementioned companies are behemoths both in the consumer and enterprise space
Don't know why they are not killing it. I heard so many talented engineers working there and easily monetized user base. Maybe they're trying to lay low so g/f don't bother to kill them lol.
What’s Pinterest’s valuation?
$12B target valuation
