I’m currently L5 at Google with $375k vested / $430k actual TC.
Almost 5 YOE
Recently interviewed at Roblox and expect to get offer. No clue what level they are thinking of hiring me at, but I did well enough on all interviews but one type. So they gave me a redo. And I did well on that one IMO. An L7 I used to work with at Google just joined Roblox and is working directly with the HM at Roblox. All signs point to offer.
But will the offer really be worth it? What level at Roblox would you consider leaving L5 at Google for?
My project at Google is great (1B DAU, meaningfully leading projects, great manager, know most leaders in my org, incredible WLB, path to L6, etc).
Thoughts?

I’m in a similar spot and barely anyone considers me for L6 although I think I can perform. YoE - 4, L64 at MSFT.
For many, I strongly encourage shopping around as TC does indeed stagnate at Google compared to top pay companies - your case isn't one of them especially if you're at L6 before the 7YOE mark all while having great WLB.
To consider for a Roblox move regardless of level: Remote onboarding without the leadership relationships, potentially worse WLB, more volatile stock.
