can confirm interviewer was a douche

Seriously, that sounds like every job I have had since college. Also, not sure if drunk manager is a sign of toxicity.

Zillow Group @—@ Aug 30, 2019

Nope! Been very happy for years and that kind of crap isn't tolerated.

Check out this post! "Zillow that bad ? Name Nd Shame (Office Life)" https://us.teamblind.com/s/020xOk38

Zillow Group Spdjbdj Aug 30, 2019

Can verify it's true. That is mainly driven by that single one guy who's there for few years and for some reasons never get fired. Every team is different and depends a lot on the managers. I'm here almost a year and my team is great so far!

Zillow Group red. Sep 1, 2019

This is 100% accurate and even relatively minor. There is systematic discrimination of every sort in the midst of a bro culture.

Yep

Zillow Group shjdmkdkd Sep 3, 2019

Never seen or heard about anything like this and been here several years. It sounds like multiple second hand stories. I’ve had great managers and HR has always been on top of any kind of issue. Not sure where these stories come from since it’s not the main product development organization.

Zillow Group bP31mK Sep 9, 2019

Same

Zillow Group hxshkkd Sep 10, 2019

These stories are from the main product dev org. “HR has always been on top of any kind of issue”, really? How would you know? If what you mean is HR has protected the company and helped shitty managers and execs get whatever they want then sure.

Zillow Group hxshkkd Sep 7, 2019

Yes, can confirm. Toxic culture based on nepotism, cronyism, politics, backstabbing, and incompetence. The people at Zillow are there because: 1) they are new and competent so just figuring out what the deal is and have started looking externally but taking time waiting for some vesting 2) they are new and incompetent and found their people 3) they have been there a long time and playing politics and even if they want to or tried can’t get a similar job elsewhere due to lack of skill/knowledge 4) they have connections to founders or high level execs so don’t have to work hard or deliver results yet continue to advance.

Accurate

Zillow Group bP31mK Sep 9, 2019

Idk. I have never experienced this behavior in my few years with the company. I have worked at lots of places that would fit the description give above, but Zillow hasn’t been one of them. In fact I find the culture at Zillow a breath of fresh air and I have experienced respect and thoughtfulness even when there have been challenges. I understand you may have had a different experience so I’m not trying to minimize that. Just... maybe the problem isn’t them...

Zillow Group yipsi Oct 10, 2019

I’ve never worked anywhere better, but that’s not saying there aren’t better places. Ignorance is bliss.
