Hello there, Does anyone know if h1b holders are legally permitted to have another source of income. I have been thinking of setting up a side business but not sure about legal constraints. Anyone has any idea about this stuff?#h1b
I thought about starting a consulting business as a side hustle, so I did some search and decided not to do it... better get the gc first
All you can do is to sell ur used stuff on craigslist. These are not allowed and not worth the headache.
NO
A good lawyer will screw you over your visa. Not worth it. Being on wp , only passive income is possible.
By the way, selling stuff on Etsy will qualify as active income because that work is technically a business. By passive I mean 401k, stocks, bonds, etc. You'll have to declare them while filing returns though.
Any income made by "actively" spending time on it is considered illegal on H1-B. It's only legal if it is a side-effect (cash back, etc), resale of property (cars, houses, furniture, etc) or a passive income (rental income on houses/cars, long term capital gains, etc).
If I use bank account of my friend, who is a U.S. citizen, will it be ok?
You’re going to get wayyyyyyyy better roi just studying for interviews.
Job is good but i want to create a side biz, is that wrong?
Which is why i posted to ask if anyone knows anything about it. Passive income should not lead to deportation. Do you know this for sure or you think so.
