I think you go through boot camp during which you can pick roles in FB or WhatsApp or whatever you want. Location is different because of comp (London pays way less) so I think you have to do that ahead of time. This is for DS so I’m not sure how eng does it.
+1 to what gfg101 said above. You apply to FB. In bootcamp you can choose between Fb/insta/whatsapp—if they have teams in your location with headcount. Whatever location you get hired to is where you have to select your team from, and you have to be co-located with your team (can’t be the only Londoner on a Menlo Park-based team) I’m in FB bootcamp currently and working with FB and IG teams to find a good fit. (No interest in WhatsApp.)
Do yourself a favor and pass on FB companies. Notoriously toxic bro-y internal culture only works for single 26 year old males. Tone deaf leadership, crappy products and company is post peak. Also you’ll be embarrassed to tell people where you work. No company is perfect, Amazon sure isn’t, but FB is really the bottom of the barrel. Avoid.
bottom of the barrel? Culture wise I suppose? If you have any examples or stories that would be great
Dude why do u comment this on like every post ab fb lol
I don’t think you can interview parallel in multiple teams, because recruiters can track that easily. But you can let your recruiter know which team are you most interested in and try to get into that after the bootcamp.
Alteast last year my friend got offer from whatsapp and fb both not sure now.
But why do you want offers from different departments in the same company? Try the one which you are most interested in.
