My wife is on H4 visa. She studied law in India and now she wants to do masters in computer science as the chances of getting any job in law in US is very less. And she is liking computer science till now. But in most of college website, admission requirement for getting in graduate degree of computer science is that one should have a bachelors degree in computer science or other closely related field. So, any idea is it possible for her to apply for masters in computer science ? If not, what are they other alternatives we can have for doing something in computer science ?
Why not do bootcamps?
Because in bootcamps you don’t get jobs that easily I think being on H4 visa
There are certain programs out west which seem to be intended for people who are trying to switch to tech careers. I read a blog post about this a while back and can't remember what it was called so here's a different link instead:https://computersciencems.com/resources/computer-science/masters-computer-science-no-cs-background/
Some graduate programs are flexible with your undergrad education. I know friends who have a non CS Bachelors and they were able to get into a masters CS program. That shouldn’t stop you from applying to schools that you prefer. They will probably make you take some prerequisite classes such as intro to programming or algorithms. There are also some online CS programs such as at Georgia Tech and University of Texas that I’ve heard good things about. Western Governors University also offer some IT/data related masters degrees.
Dude, suggest her to study law again and pass the bar. Too much money in the US. People sue for everything.
You can check out post baccalaureate online CS from Oregon State University. It lets you earn a BS in CS within 1.5-2 years
Is she allowed to study on h4 visa? I know that on default you can’t study on H4, but maybe there is some permit you can get?
Would be great if you could clarify: She can’t work on an H4? If she has to find a job eventually does she need to transition to a student visa? Is that why you are lookin for a formal program?

As an Indian what would you choose as a career ?
I think having a bachelors in engineering is mandatory She can try the boot camps but I’m not sure how it’ll help during the job hunt!
