Do we as a nation really need to bring in 85,000 people on H1 when we are facing record unemployment ? Let us think rationally for a moment. Millions of families are/will be without jobs and paychecks. We as a nation have obligation to support these families. Keep politics aside. Put yourself in shoe of an American citizen who has mortgage payment, car and other payments. How do these families feel when we bring in 85,000 on H1? And please do not start with ‘We don’t have skillset here’. There are plenty of American citizen to fill in those 85,000 jobs.
If those 85k jobs can go to Americans then companies won’t hire a single H1. At this time I think USA do need H1 - or in other words high tax payers who are no burden to the exchequer and for the most part are not a burden on the health care.
lol
Even if Americans could do the same job, some shitty managers will still bring their race from overseas to keep their cast system here.

Too late. You won't get supports here, since most blind users in tech are/were on H1b. US has a fundamental education problem to train engineers.
This. The same set of people who cannot WFH because their fucking lack of education did not get them any relevant skill sets except being on the field.
Workday, suck a dick. I'm not an American, but discriminating pieces of shit like you need to fuck off. Mind you even low paying people who are on the field today are considered essential. Grocery clerks are essential, truck drivers delivering supplies are essential, garbagemen are essential. You and I sitting behind desks with our "elite skills" are not essential. So fuck off and have some respect before stereotyping a group of people.
stop it and company will hire those people in asia.
OP, are you afraid of losing your job ?
Haha, definitely not. In fact, all medical device companies are doing great. Not only that, I have side gigs. How about you ? Only software engineer on visa ? I seen pictures/ heard about how you guys line up outside US Embassies rain or shine to get Visa.
Haha lol. Just because someone calls you out for your insecurities doesn’t mean they are from the other side. You can continue watching those pictures before Chinese medical companies will come and flood you guys out of market.
If there were qualified citizens there wouldnt be a visa program in the first place.
you mean wouldn't
Correct
Try convince WITCH companies to hire Americans
They are already doing that since 2017. Almost all entry level hires are US persons, after they were slammed with a visa fraud lawsuit in 2016.
But they are still hiring a lot through h1b. If they can stop abusing h1b, then there wouldn't be a h1b limit issue.
You should be afraid of working at Medtronics more than an immigrant worker.
