Need help from all you insightful folks at blind. Let’s call this individual A. A has 2 yoe in credit risk management in consumer lending. A has a Masters degree in Economics from a very reputed school which they can leverage, given the alumni community. A hates their current role. A’s end goal is to find a job they like. A has good interpersonsal and advanced analytical skills. Working in Private Equity/ hedge funds interests A. But A is a confused individual and on a side note needs some good mentors (please shoot a message if you’re interested). A is beginning their job search and wants to know good transitional roles to help them end up in PE at some point. In general what kind of roles should A be looking at?
Find a finance job in FAANG
Dm me..
Goldman Sachs
What makes you want to be in PE vs. IB or even work towards Portfolio Management? I'm going through the same thing right now, I enjoy valuation but don't know exactly where I want to go with it.
Why do you want to join PE? Why do you not like your own job now and how are you sure that you would you be happy with a job in PE? Feel like A should really have a deep thought to his or her career and truly find what he or she wants to do. If you want to stay in finance there is a world of jobs out there and if you are doing credit risk management, that could be a skill valued at investor roles at debt shops that pay a lot and has good work life balance at the same time.
