Can you use Credit Karma as a competing offer

Can you leverage a Credit Karma offer against tier 2 companies like Uber and Lyft? Thinking they would just laugh.

Only assholes would laugh. You’ll want to find that out before you accept any offer.

Personally, Id go for Credit Karma before Uber any day.

When you want to use Tier 1 offer to negotiate Tier 2 they won’t budge. Try for Tier 3, Google and Facebook.

Any competing offer is worth communicating to the recruiter.

I’m surprised CK is offering you more than these two companies.

It’s worth a shot. If they won’t meet the CK offer, it sounds like you’ll take the lower TC anyway, so what’s the risk?

FWIW, I had an offer from CK too and their offer was higher than Uber, both cash and stock. Ended up taking Google which beat both.

I am assuming OP got a SDE-2 or SDE-3 offer, so CK beats Lyft and Uber.
Base is so high for CK SDE-2 and SDE-3 that it's very difficult to beat at those levels.

CK pays the best for the new comers but pays little for experience. Should be the inverse.

Lyft is cost cutting. Need to pay those share holders. Why join a company with no upside?

They would only laugh if they call your bluff.
