We both lost jobs due to COVID. Now looking to immigrate to Canada via the express entry route. We did all our education in india and have been living here in USA for 4+ years.

Can someone recommend a good attorney or consultant who can help in the PR process for Canada. We really are looking for someone who can just do all the heavy lifting for us and guide us.

Should we go for an Indian consultant or should we go for a Canadian consultant?

Thanks

Canadian consultants are expensive. Get a job offer from Canada if you can.

  • There’s no need to hire a consultant. Welcome to Canada. I’m happy you’re getting out of your abusive relationship with USCIS. You should apply and will almost certainly qualify when they start allowing applicants from outside Canada. Also, check out Ontario’s PNP program if you are an engineer as that could give you another 600 pts

You've almost a confirmed chance the moment covid related restriction is lifted. Right now they are inviting only CanadianExperienced Class (CEC) I.e. Ppl living and working inside Canadian borders. But with you having worked in USA on h1b (such ppl are given preference) and with that high a score you'd be amongst the first ones to be invited. No need of hiring any consultant. Plz do not even think of getting an Indian one. They simply charge money for doing nothing. On the CEC website and on Canada immigration group on Facebook everything is so clearly mentioned that it's a child's play to create a profile and get an invite.

Canada has stopped most PR invites this year. Just FYI if you haven’t started the process it’s going to take you a year at least to move.

That's okay. I just want the PR on my passport before competition gets crazy. I can work in India in the meanwhile. I just want to get a foot in the door asap.

Have they stopped due to COVID or are they restricting immigration as well

Due to covid, as of now invites are restricted to Canadian experience and provincial nomination. Anyway keep trying- it will take a few months.
