Both places have high tax rate. Although important q is what are we getting back in return (i.e. good weather and bigger job market in California v social security and so called universal health care in Canada ) and tax-wise which one makes more sense?
The health care isn't free - you're still paying the taxes for it. And the wait times will be much longer. In Cali, you get a much better job market. Being in the States is also a significant advantage for the rest of your career.
Agree. Career is good. But for retirement, I am not sure. When I saw the cost of living here for seniors it is very expensive. The housing is easily couple of thousands a month as the baseline not to mention if you need some helps and the level of helps you need would drive the retirement cost higher.
If you are an Indian stuck because of immigration then Canada otherwise US.
Spend your youth in Cali, get the million $ TC packages.. and then retire in Canada with free health Care.
