I'm in gcp and we regularly track number of core services offered. We have closed 90% of the gap between us and the other two. There isn't much functionality remaining that customer complain we don't have. If you have any examples, do highlight.
It’s been about a year since I used gcp but my biggest problem with it was the lack of documentation and how everything seemed to be in alpha or beta still. while they had the main functionality of each service it just wasn’t fully matured and everything seemed to be missing that extra feature that aws already had. Probably got better since then but personally I don’t see a reason to use gcp when the other offerings are far more mature and the cost is comparable if not cheaper with the other services.
For real gcp is aight but aws is better in every way. Only reason to use gcp is if you get some sort of partnership contract that brings costs down drastically
Yes I have used it almost exclusively at my previous company. I’m not saying it’s terrible there are definitely some areas where gcp just feels really clean. But overall using gcp feels like I’m beta testing a product while aws is just more mature.
Some stuff I liked about gcp were service accounts which felt a bit cleaner to manage iam, kubernetes ofc, and the ui. But ecs and roles still get the job done and I’m hardly ever in the ui since everything is terraform anyways

GCP integrates really well with kubenetes. Have you tried using GCP?

Most people are lazy and don't want to learn about another provider or don't want all the work to migrate.
Just because you haven't tried it doesn' mean it is not better than AWS.
You know what they say, "Once you go Black you never go Back"
