We were not able to hire SDE2 because qualified one just used our offer for negotiation (we gave few offer).
Im not saying they are bad or stupid. Just i cannot understand how come we hire investment banker or solution architect with 0yoe in engineering as experienced L4.

We were not able to hire ANY SDE2 and this is NOT for hire to fire shit. I got message from L7 to guide and teach those3 how to WRITE production code.

This is my 4th yr at amazon and cant believe our team hired 3 L4 to compensate hiring problems/horrible attrition.
L4 A: has 2yoe after boot camp at local small startup(seems 3devs there now) with econ major
L4 B: he was solution architect with 3yoe (he has 0 exp with production engineering) and now he is engineer at our team with cs major
L4 C: he was investment banker with cs major but has been 6yrs after graduation. So now he now starts to rampup on java.
What is going on hr and hm? This is how you make up the hiring problem ?
Oh btw we have NO SDE2. All left. Im L6 and seems now is the time to leave.
