Cap Gap Extension
My Stem extension expires next month and I don't have any work visa after that. Does anyone have any experience with capgap extensions? My college is demanding for a copy of my visa application since I did not get a receipt yet. But Google doesn't share a copy of visa application due to some policy. Any suggestions what do I do ? I have tried talking to immigration team and my lawayer with very little help.

So if you status is not updated and you did not get the receipt yet most likely you did not get it. A capgap only applies to people who got picked in the lottery and sevis is automatically updated. At least that’s the case for all people I know. Or are you trying to stretch till you get your application back which proves you are not picked up to get a few more weeks?
If your application got picked in h1b lottery then just provide the uscis receipt to the university and they will issue you the cap gap otherwise if you did not get through the lottery then you cant get the cap gap.
If you are rejected u do not get a receipt until July. I have not received any recipt yet.
