Does anyone know why Capital One still has a pre-interview test in order to be considered for an interview? It seems it would be useful to use an assessment to determine how you might interview, but to cut out anyone that doesn't pass in the beginning seems pretty limiting in terms of the talent pool. As they position themselves as "digital" - this process may not be the best. Even Google lightened the reigns on the GPA requirements for an interview - it's not the best way to assess talent up front. Just curious if anyone has any insight...
Capital one's is different . It deals with reasoning and some math questions . I took it( with zero preparation) and i flunked it
Maybe you should have prepared.
I do these interviews at Capital One for the business analyst job family. Honestly, there are probably some people we screen out who would do well, but in the aggregate, it saves us tons of time and money not having to bring people in for power days who we're pretty certain from a 45 minute conversation would not succeed. Whenever I'm on the fence about someone, I give them the benefit of the doubt and pass them. The ones I've failed have made egregious errors with basic math or business concepts or have a hard time communicating or connecting the dots. Not trying to say you'd make the same mistake on a different day - everyone has a bad say sometimes, but we like this process so much that it's actually being expanded.
Thanks for the feedback!

A lot of companies have this. Twitter, yelp, palantir, etc I had like a dozen saved up to do at one point. They're usually hacker rank or something similar
