Hello, I am scheduled for onsite interview in Chicago next week for SWE position. There are not many questions on Leetcode tagged with Capital one. Can you please share some tips for preparation? Thanks in advance. TC: 135k YOE: 5.5
Where are you currently with that TC ? Check interviewbit and other sites for related questions
I am in Oregon
Prepare for the lowball
I got zero leetcode questions FWIW. They mostly asked me questions relating to scaling and algorithms to optimize time complexity.
How many rounds? Any system design?
I'm frontend-focused, so not as much in the way of system design. There was one phone interview, then a day's worth of onsite with 6 different people. It took a while, but one of the easier onsites I've done.
Negotiate your salary, I’m am 100% certain that you will be lowballed.
I did not negotiate and ended up a very high offer. I just told them how much I'm looking for and that was pretty much it.
During my technical interviews i just got a basic question about system design and developing a product. The second tech interview was just a high level discussion of my resume. Not much reason to leetcode here, they aren’t heavy into those types of questions.
Thanks. How many rounds in total? When did you interview?
I interviewed a year and 1/2 ago. I had 2 job fits(technical), 1 case study, 1 behavioral, 1 lunch round
Thanks. What can you expect from Case study interview round?
It’s a applied problem that may or may not involve some code. Mine involved getting a stream of data and being able to mask certain characters given a business use case. I had to pick what to mask and explain why.
Thank you
Thanks all. Mine got rescheduled and now a virtual because of this coronavirus thing..
Update: I got an email from recruiter that multiple teams are interested in me. Now I need to choose a team from that list. Any compensation estimate? It's Senior Software Engineer - SA role at Chicago. Thanks.
