As the title says, I'm looking to quit before my 1 year contract is up. I'm about 8 months in. I am a senior software developer. How does this work? And I'll I need to pay back my full bonus? Or is it prorated? And if so, is it the before tax amount or after tax amount?
Not sure if it’s before or after tax amount. you should look in your written offer. It will say whether it’s prorated or full bonus. Mine specifically states that if I leave before my 1 year is up, I have to return the full amount.
Details will be in your offer letter. You should also ask your new employer for a signing bonus to recoup the full bonus.
Wow LinkedIn I like your finesse 😎
Has anyone ever heard of a company enforcing this clause? I personally have not
Never ever, no company will sue you for 3k signon bonus, it's higher than lawyer's hour fee.
See the offer letter
As others mentioned, check your offer letter (you can find it in workday if you don’t have it easily available). I’ve been at C1 for 1 year and my offer said I had to repay my signing bonus entirely if I left before my 1 year.
Has anyone seen what happens in the case your sign on bonus also has an anniversary payment? There is some ambiguous language in my contract and I can’t tell if I have to repay 50% or 100% of that anniversary payment if I leave between 1 and 2 years
OP, any update?

Is there any way to stick it out another four months so you don’t have to pay it back, or do you have a much better offer waiting for you?
