As someone who's heavily into cars and knows the ins and outs of most cars and car companies, I wouldn't recommend buying it. What are you looking for specifically in a car?

German cars have issues just like any other cars but as the guy above me mentions, they're usually issues that are expensive and hard to fix whereas other cars have usual maintenance issues (spark plugs, oil change, brakes, maybe need to replace a water pump). All common but easy to fix issues

  • I would say test drive the car and if you like it, buy it. You only live once. Enjoy your life. Buying a car is not an investment…

If you want a cheaper, more reliable car that you can maintain like crap and it will still run, get a Japanese car. German cars are reliable and can last a long time, but they require the maintenance to be done on time and have more frequent intervals.

It’s interesting as always to see how people interpret differently as wrong. If you want a car you can neglect and drive into the ground then it isn’t for you. German cars do tend to be a bit more serious about the maintenance. A comparison might be that an Asian car is a bit like a tablet and a German car is more like a desktop. If you don’t open the case and blow the dust out of the heat sinks periodically bad things happen. If you do it should be fine. People who know how to do the periodic maintenance are fine. People who call out the Geek Squad for their 6 month CPU fan dusting exercise their wallet a lot more than those who DIY, or who just buy the tablet.
