About to intern at FAANG Europe (UK). I know about the SWE levels (E3, E4, L3, L4 and so on). I know these can go up to 9 or something according to levels fyi. Obviously not many people get past level 6. What about going the managerial route? What are the levels there? I heard about the “Engineering Manager” role. Are there levels when it comes to managers? Are there significant pay differences between senior developers and senior managers? Let’s say person A: 10 YoE all SWE, person B, 6 YoE SWE, 4 manager. Assuming regular promotions and everything, whose TC is higher? Asking this just out of curiosity. Not yet been exposed to the company structure and levels.
Kid, there’s a million things you should consider than TC at this age.
