Career advice @ MSFT?

Hello Microsoft friends. I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on possible career directions for me at MS. I'm not asking for a referral, just for some ideas. I don't know anyone who works there so that's why I'm asking here. Especially interested if any recruiters are on here. I'm currently a Salesforce Admin with 5+ years of sales and marketing ops experience. I'm really interested in PM and ops management roles. I feel like I functionally do much of this without the title. Now I'm looking for a formal role where I can sit in that seat, manage large scale projects, gather requirements, work across the organization, etc. I also have my MBA (recent grad, not a top tier program). Yes, I realize MS doesn't use Salesforce. But I think I bring a lot of CRM and process experience to the table. I'm trying to grow larger into a role that isn't system-specific and more high level. I do not work for salesforce - I support the product for an end user. Thanks in advance!

You can apply for Dynamics Solutions Specialist or a Technical Specialist or pursue a Account Executive role...

Salesforce admin work probably won't translate to many Dynamics PM roles at Microsoft. All of our PMs for internal orgs such as Sales, HR, Legal, Xbox, Facilities, etc. use Dynamics 365. Most of those positions will also require Dynamics experience since you will be in charge of an entire system that governs employee-employee, company-customer direct, or employee-partner interaction which runs entirely on Dynamics 365/CRM. TBH you can try Sales roles such as Technical Sales Professional or Solutions Specialist where you will be given Dynamics training, and you can leverage your Salesforce experience to help us sell more D365. With enough time, you can ten start looking at PM roles on the internal careers site. In my experience with friends who have made this move, it's not an easy accomplishment but it is possible. Hope that helps.

Don’t come to Microsoft, the best advice you’ll get 😁

There are bad teams at Microsoft just like there are bad teams at Google or Salesforce or Amazon. Why are you still here if you don't like it? Nobody is making you stay.
