Cash out PTO or use them before leaving company?

I have 20+ vacation days off, I will start at the next company before my next GOOG vesting date. I really want to take a vacation before starting at the next company.

Pros for using vacation:
- Have health insurance while traveling
- Will accrue (small) extra amount of vacation while at the vacation

Pros for cashing out:
- Extra paycheck

Am I missing anything? Based on this, it seems using the vacation is better?

    I’m taking the vacation.

    They pay me during the time off so I don’t really see the difference 🤷‍♂️

      I might end up doing it the other way around - work the 2 week notice before the vacation, that way i can entirely disconnect from work while vacationing before going to the next job

    What you are missing is whether something is vesting in the days after your resignation. For example, you might cash out $X from your vacation and miss the $2X that is vesting a week later.
